Yesterday I stopped by to visit my mother who now lives with my sister. I walked into the living room and noticed a roaring fire! Not exactly fire weather, I thought to myself...it's 60 degrees outside! I continued thinking, good thing I dressed in layers, this is going to be a warm visit.
Today, I thought about how happy my mother and sister were to see me. Not only that, but in their minds they had provided a cozy, hospitable place for me. I thought about my lack of appreciation for their efforts. It really stuck with me today. I hope that I will be more attentive to the consideration and thoughtfulness of others as they share their love and kindness with me. I know that it brings me great joy when I share - now it's up to me to wholeheartedly appreciate and receive.
